DENG Academy teams advanced into both the London Youth Games and Jr. NBA Finals to close out the 2016/17 season on a high.

Both the U12 Boys & Girls made it all the way to the Final Four teams out of 30 across London to play at the newly built Leicester Arena. Head Coach Lewis Gabriele was delighted for both teams.

“It really is a fantastic achievement from both teams making it to the Final 4. The vast majority of the players hadn’t played before the start of year 7 so we’ve come such a long way in such a short space of time. We are looking forward to a positive future with this next generation of players.”

London Youth Games
The U16 Boys went one better than last year to advance to the Final Four but this time they didn’t fall short by being crowned London School Champions. Head Coach Ronnie Baker was so proud of players he has coached since the academy started.

“After working with the boys since the start of year 7, we are very proud of seeing them grow into the young men they have become. It goes to show if you put in the hard work you will be rewarded. Winning the London Youth Games is a incredible achievement and we hope basketball has given these boys the tools they need to succeed in life on and off the court.”

We want to congratulate our coaches and players at DENG Academy for their success this year.
